After winning the toss, England invited Sri Lanka to bat first. The hosts posted a competitive 189/5 in their 20 overs.
Kamil Mishara scored 36, Pathum Nissanka made 34, Kusal Mendis added 32, Pawan Rathnayake struck 40, and Charith Asalanka chipped in with 28.
For England, Jofra Archer claimed 2 wickets, while Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.
England were 57/2 in 7.2 overs when rain interrupted play. Upon resumption, the revised DLS target was set at 168 runs in 17 overs.
England comfortably chased it down, reaching 173/4 in 16.4 overs.
Tom Banton remained unbeaten on 54, while Jos Buttler contributed 39.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers saw Matheesha Pathirana take 2 wickets, with Dasun Shanaka and Dunith Wellalage claiming one each.
