The International Cricket Council has suspended the membership of Cricket Canada with immediate effect following serious breaches of its membership obligations.
However, the suspension will not prevent the Canada National Cricket Team from participating in ICC-sanctioned international tournaments during this period.
The ICC has confirmed that the Canadian national team will continue to receive funding and operational support under the direct supervision of the ICC management to ensure uninterrupted participation in international competitions.
Reports indicate that the ICC has also issued a set of conditions that Cricket Canada must satisfy in order to regain its full membership status.
The progress made toward meeting these requirements will be monitored by the ICC’s Normalisation Committee, which has been tasked with overseeing the governance and administrative reforms.
Once the committee determines that all conditions have been fully met and recommends reinstatement, Cricket Canada will be eligible to regain its membership of the ICC.
The decision highlights the ICC’s commitment to maintaining strong governance standards across its member nations while ensuring that players and national teams are not adversely affected by administrative issues.
