Day 4 of the second Test between Sri Lanka and the West Indies gets underway today in Antigua, with the hosts well placed after a resilient batting display on Day 3.
At stumps on the third day, the West Indies were 318/4 in their first innings, replying to Sri Lanka’s imposing 549.
The hosts resumed the day on 58/1, with John Campbell and Kevlon Hodge at the crease. Campbell went on to score 72 before becoming the second wicket to fall, while Kevlon Hodge contributed 31. Amir Jangoo added 9 runs.
By the close of play, Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 86, while Justin Greaves was also unbeaten on 85, with the pair putting together an important partnership to keep the West Indies firmly in the contest.
For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando and Prabath Jayasuriya claimed two wickets each as the visitors continued to press for first-innings supremacy.
