The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have been crowned 2026 Caribbean Premier League champions, securing their maiden CPL title after defeating the Jamaica Kingsmen in the final early this morning.
The final was contested between the Falcons, led by Moeen Ali, and the Jamaica Kingsmen, captained by Rovman Powell.
Batting first, Jamaica posted 170/9 in 20 overs, powered by a sensational innings from opener Maaz Sadaqat, who smashed 114 off 58 balls.
However, Saim Ayub was the only other Jamaica batter to make a significant contribution, scoring 29.
For the Falcons, Sufiyan Muqeem was the standout bowler, producing an outstanding spell of 4/14, while Alzarri Joseph claimed two wickets.
Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased down the target in emphatic fashion, reaching 171/2 in 16.4 overs to seal a comfortable eight-wicket victory.
Amir Jangoo led the chase with an unbeaten 57 off 34 balls, while Hasan Nawaz finished unbeaten on 47 off 35 balls. Evin Lewis contributed 38, while Rahkeem Cornwall added 20.
The victory saw the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons lift the CPL trophy for the first time in franchise history.
Sufiyan Muqeem was named Player of the Match, while Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan was named Player of the Tournament.
