Sri Lanka Crumble to Second-Lowest T20I Total as Zimbabwe Level Series

Zimbabwe stunned Sri Lanka in Harare by securing a five-wicket victory in the second T20I, leveling the three-match series 1–1. The defeat saw Sri Lanka collapse to their second-lowest total in T20 International history, managing only 80 runs.

Winning the toss, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza opted to field first—a decision that proved decisive. Sri Lanka’s batting lineup faltered under relentless pressure, with wickets tumbling at regular intervals. The visitors were bowled out for just 80 runs in 17.4 overs, with Kamil Mishara top-scoring with 20.

Zimbabwe’s bowlers were outstanding, led by Sikandar Raza and Brad Evans, who claimed three wickets apiece to dismantle the Sri Lankan batting order.

In reply, Zimbabwe chased the modest target in 14.2 overs, finishing at 84/5. Ryan Burl (20)* and Tinashe Mushangwe (21)* guided the hosts home comfortably despite a spirited effort from Dushmantha Chameera, who struck three key blows for Sri Lanka.

The win brought the series to life, tying it 1–1 with everything to play for in the decider. Sikandar Raza was named Player of the Match for his bowling performance.
