Sri Lankan boxer Nadeeka Pushpakumari has advanced to the next round of the women’s boxing competition at the Asian Games after securing a convincing victory in her opening bout.
Competing in the 51kg weight category, Pushpakumari faced Afghanistan’s Lara Kargar and produced a dominant performance to win the bout 5–0 on points.
The victory sees Pushpakumari progress to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Keshani Hansika, competing in the 54kg category, was eliminated after suffering a defeat against a Vietnamese opponent.
