Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the men’s singles title at the French Open for the second year in a row, following a dramatic victory over World No.1 Jannik Sinner of Italy.
Sinner started strong, winning the first two sets 6-4 and 7-6, appearing on course to lift his maiden French Open title. But Alcaraz showed tremendous resilience, bouncing back to take the next three sets in a nail-biting finish: 6-4, 7-6, and 7-6.
The match, which lasted an epic 5 hours and 29 minutes, has now entered the history books as the longest final in French Open history.
With this triumph, 22-year-old Alcaraz now holds five Grand Slam titles, further cementing his position as one of the brightest stars in modern tennis.
