England secured their first win in the Women’s T20 World Cup by defeating Bangladesh by 21 runs in a match held at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, England scored 118/6 in their 20 overs. Dani Hodge top-scored with 41 runs, while Maia Bouchier contributed 23. For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter, Fahima Khatun, and Ritu Moni each claimed two wickets.
In response, Bangladesh was bowled out for 97 runs in 20 overs. Sobhana Mostary fought hard with 44 runs, but it wasn’t enough to chase down the target. England’s Linsey Smith and Charlie Dean took two wickets each, sealing the victory for their team.
