India stormed into the Asian Games men’s cricket final with a commanding 124-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second semi-final in Nishin, Japan.
Batting first, India posted 169 for 7 in their 20 overs, with Ishan Kishan leading the charge with a blistering 80 off 46 balls. His innings featured five sixes and four fours.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also made a valuable contribution with 38 runs.
For Sri Lanka, Tharindu Rathnayake and Sahan Arachchige claimed two wickets each.
Chasing 170, Sri Lanka’s batting collapsed spectacularly, with the entire team bowled out for just 45 in the 10th over.
Nuwanindu Fernando was the only Sri Lankan batter to reach double figures, scoring 15.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma picked up two wickets each as India’s bowling attack dismantled the Sri Lankan batting line-up.
With the emphatic 124-run victory, India booked their place in the Asian Games cricket final, where they will face Pakistan for the gold medal.
