The West Indies Cricket Board has appointed Roston Chase as the new captain of the West Indies Test team.
The 33-year-old all-rounder has represented the Caribbean side in 49 Tests, scoring 2,265 runs in 90 innings, including 5 centuries and 11 half-centuries.
Chase is set to lead the West Indies in his 50th Test match, marking a significant personal milestone.
However, he has not featured in a Test match since the 2023 series against South Africa, played in South Africa.
Chase replaces Kraigg Brathwaite, who stepped down as Test captain in March 2024.
