The first Test of the two-match series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh began today at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to bat first and reached 292 for 3 at stumps on the opening day.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 136, while Mushfiqur Rahim also stayed not out on 105, steering Bangladesh to a commanding position.
For Sri Lanka, debut spinner Tharindu Ratnayake took 2 wickets, and Asitha Fernando claimed one.
