Sri Lanka End Day Three in Commanding Position

Bangladesh trail by 96 runs with only four wickets remaining

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh completed the third day of the second Test match today. At stumps, Bangladesh were struggling at 115 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their second innings.

Sri Lanka had earlier scored 458 runs in their first innings, securing a lead of 211 runs over Bangladesh’s first-innings total.

Today, Pathum Nissanka was dismissed after scoring 158 runs, while Kusal Mendis contributed 84 runs.

For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam claimed 5 wickets, and Nayeem Hasan took 3 wickets with the ball.

During Bangladesh’s second innings, Sri Lanka’s bowlers dominated once again, reducing the visitors to 6 wickets down by the end of the day. Only Liton Das remained unbeaten at the crease.

Prabath Jayasuriya and Dhananjaya de Silva each took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh still trail Sri Lanka by 96 runs heading into day four.
