Sri Lanka’s Kalinga Kumarage made the nation proud today by winning the bronze medal in the Men’s 400m final at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships, held in Gumi, South Korea.
Kalinga finished the race in 45.55 seconds, marking his personal best for the current season and securing a spot on the podium in a fiercely contested final.
The gold medal was claimed by a Qatari sprinter, while the silver went to a Japanese athlete.
This medal adds to Sri Lanka’s growing presence in the Asian athletics scene, with more events still to come in the championship.
