Sri Lanka’s national javelin champion Ramesh Tharanga clinched gold at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi.

Tharanga delivered a sensational performance, launching a throw of 89.28 meters to secure first place while also setting a new meet record.

Olympic champion Thomas Rohler settled for silver, while Douw Smit claimed bronze.

This marks the second time within 30 days that Tharanga has crossed the 89-meter mark — a remarkable show of consistency and world-class form.
