Sri Lanka’s star javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga has claimed first place in the men’s javelin throw at the World Ultimate Athletics event.
The competition featured eight of the world’s leading javelin throwers, making it a highly competitive field.
Tharanga produced his winning throw on his fourth attempt, recording an impressive 91.09 metres to secure the top spot.
His victory also earned him a significant prize of Rs. 50 million.
The event is being held in Budapest, Hungary.
