The Sri Lanka Youth Netball Team, set to depart for the ‘2025 Asian Youth Netball Championship,’ received well-wishes from the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamagedara, during a meeting held today (20) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in South Korea from June 27 to July 4, 2025, with the participation of 11 countries from across the region.
During the event, the Minister conveyed his encouragement and best wishes for the team’s success, and also engaged in a friendly discussion with the young athletes.
The occasion was also attended by Deputy Sports Minister Sugath Thilakaratne, Director General of the Department of Sports Development Shemal Fernando, Director General of the Institute of Sports Medicine Dr. Lal Ekanayake, head coach Hyacinth Wijesinghe, and several other officials.
