Sri Lanka secured second place at the South Asian Senior Athletics Championships held in India, after claiming an impressive 16 gold, 14 silver, and 10 bronze medals, bringing the nation’s total to 40 medals.
India topped the medal table with 20 gold, 20 silver, and 18 bronze medals, a total of 58 medals, while Nepal finished third with 6 medals in total.
Notably, only India and Sri Lanka succeeded in winning gold medals at this year’s championship, underscoring the two nations’ dominance in South Asian athletics.
