Sri Lankan sprint champion Yupun Abeykoon has recorded his best time of the season in the 100-meter sprint event, delivering a stellar performance at an athletics competition held yesterday in Germany.
Competing in the “Anhalt 2025” International Athletics Meet, Abeykoon took part in the 100-meter sprint and initially secured third place in the heats, clocking a time of 10.30 seconds.
He later qualified for the final, where he went on to dominate the race, finishing first with an impressive time of 10.18 seconds. This marks his fastest 100m timing so far for the current season.
Yupun’s performance is seen as a strong indicator of form and preparation as he continues to represent Sri Lanka on the global stage in short-distance track events.
