India Crush England by 336 Runs in Second Test at Birmingham

Shubman Gill’s monumental twin centuries lead India to emphatic victory

India defeated England by 336 runs in the second Test held in Birmingham, England.

Batting first, India amassed a huge total of 587 runs in their first innings. Shubman Gill scored a remarkable 269 runs.

In response, England posted 407 runs in their first innings. Jamie Smith remained unbeaten on 184, while Harry Brook contributed 158 runs. Notably, six English players were dismissed without scoring.

During England’s innings, Mohammed Siraj took 6 wickets, and Akash Deep claimed 4 wickets.

India’s second innings yielded 427 runs, with Shubman Gill adding another impressive 161 runs.

To win the match, England was set a target of 608 runs. However, they managed to score only 271 runs in their second innings before being bowled out completely.

Akash Deep again excelled with the ball, capturing 6 wickets.
