Sri Lanka’s Under-17 team secured an impressive 9-wicket victory in the second three-day match against the Bangladesh U-17 side. The youth series is currently being played in Bangladesh.
Batting first, the Bangladesh U-17 team scored 122 runs in their first innings.
Sri Lanka responded strongly, posting a commanding 335 runs, largely thanks to a magnificent knock of 182 runs by Rehan Peiris, who dominated the innings with superb stroke play.
In their second innings, Bangladesh U-17 fought back and made 278 runs, leaving Sri Lanka a modest target.
The young Sri Lankan side comfortably chased down the required runs, scoring 68 runs for the loss of just one wicket, sealing a confident victory.
This win further highlights the promising talent and strong form of Sri Lanka’s next generation of cricketers.
