After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first, handing Sri Lanka the opportunity to set a target.
Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 128 runs in 19.2 overs. Janith Liyanage was the top scorer for the hosts, contributing 40 runs.
With the ball, Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed were impressive for Pakistan, sharing three wickets each.
In reply, Pakistan opened their innings with Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub. Ayub scored 24 runs, while Farhan played a match-winning knock of 51 runs.
Pakistan successfully chased down the target, reaching 129 for 4 in 16.4 overs, sealing the match with ease.
The second T20I of the series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on the 9th, as Sri Lanka look to bounce back and level the series.
