Pakistan Reverse Decision, Set to Face India in T20 World Cup Clash

Pakistan have reversed their earlier decision to withdraw from their scheduled match against India in the 2026 T20 World Cup, confirming that the much-anticipated encounter will go ahead.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had previously decided not to play the match, but following a special discussion held yesterday, the decision was officially changed and Pakistan agreed to participate.

Representatives from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and the Bangladesh Cricket Board took part in the key meeting. The discussions helped resolve an issue that had continued for nearly 10 days, clearing the way for one of the most watched rivalries in world cricket.

As a result, the Pakistan vs India match is now scheduled to be played on the 15th at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

Media reports indicate that the decision by the Pakistan government was influenced by requests from several ICC member nations, including Sri Lanka Cricket, as well as a special discussion between Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Pakistan government stated that the move was made to preserve the spirit of the game and to maintain the integrity of global cricket.
