Sri Lanka wrapped up their Women’s T20 World Cup group-stage campaign with a hard-fought three-wicket victory over Scotland in Manchester, England.
After being put in to bat, Scotland posted 151/6 in their 20 overs. Sarah Bryce top-scored with an unbeaten 47, while Mithali Ayodhya was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers with 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 152, Sri Lanka reached 154/7 in 19.5 overs to secure an exciting win.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu led the batting effort with 33 runs, while Harshitha Samarawickrama contributed 27. Hashini Perera added 23, and Nilakshika Silva remained unbeaten on 21 to guide Sri Lanka across the finish line.
The victory lifts Sri Lanka to third place in Group B. They concluded the group stage with three wins from five matches, earning six points in the tournament standings.
