In another fixture of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings secured a comfortable 8-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals yesterday, with 15 balls to spare.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, DC managed to post 155/7. However, CSK chased down the target with ease, losing just two wickets in 17.3 overs.
DC’s top order failed to deliver a strong start, as Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for 19 and KL Rahul for 12. Sameer Rizvi (40*) and Tristan Stubbs (38) helped stabilize the innings and push the total to a competitive score.
CSK’s bowlers executed their plans effectively from the start, with Noor Ahmad picking up 2 wickets for just 22 runs.
In response, Chennai’s innings was anchored by opener Sanju Samson, who continued his fine form with an unbeaten 87. He was well supported by Karthik Sharma, who remained not out on 41, guiding the team to victory comfortably.
With this win, Chennai Super Kings move to 10 points and currently sit in 6th place on the points table. Today’s match will see Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Punjab Kings.
