A special felicitation ceremony was held yesterday at the Ministry of Sports to honor Sri Lankan athletes who secured medals at the 6th Asian Beach Games held in Sanya, China.
The event was attended by Minister of Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage and Deputy Minister Sugath Thilakaratne, recognizing the outstanding achievements of the national athletes.
Newly appointed President of the National Olympic Committee, Asanga Seneviratne, was also present at the occasion.
Sri Lanka delivered an impressive performance at this year’s Asian Beach Games, winning a total of seven medals, including one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
