The Galle Gallants have booked their place in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) final after defeating the Colombo Kaps by six wickets in yesterday’s semi-final.
Batting first, Colombo Kaps were bowled out for 176. Ravindu Fernando top-scored with 48, while Rubin Hermann contributed 45.
For the Gallants, Charith Asalanka and Sachindu Colombage claimed two wickets each to restrict Colombo to a competitive total.
Chasing 177, Galle Gallants produced a composed run chase, reaching 178/4 in 18.4 overs to seal a convincing victory.
Sam Harper led the chase with a brilliant 77, while Charith Asalanka played a match-winning knock of 59. Ravindu Fernando was the pick of the Colombo bowlers, claiming two wickets.
The victory sends Galle Gallants into the LPL final, where they will face Jaffna Kings today at 7:30 p.m. at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
