Skipper Shubman Gill led from the front with a classy 70 off 45 balls, while Jos Buttler smashed 52 off 27. Washington Sundar also played a crucial knock of 55.
For Delhi, Mukesh Kumar picked up 2 wickets, while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with one each.
In reply, Delhi got off to a solid start as openers KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka stitched together a 76-run partnership.
Nissanka scored a quick 41 off 24 balls, including a six and six fours, while Rahul played a stunning innings of 92 off 52 balls. David Miller added late fireworks with an unbeaten 41 off 20.
However, Delhi Capitals fell agonizingly short, finishing on 209/8 in their 20 overs.
