Belgium and the United States secured their spots in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with impressive victories in the Round of 32.
Belgium fought back dramatically to defeat Senegal 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Senegal took control early, with Habib Diarra opening the scoring in the 25th minute before Ismaïla Sarr doubled the advantage in the 51st minute.
Belgium launched a remarkable comeback late in the match. Romelu Lukaku pulled one back in the 86th minute, and Youri Tielemans equalised just three minutes later.
With the match heading towards penalties, Tielemans struck again deep into stoppage time after extra time to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory and send Belgium through to the Round of 16.
In the day’s other knockout fixture, the United States comfortably defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0.
Folarin Balogun gave the Americans the lead in the 45th minute before Malik Tillman added a second in the 82nd minute to put the result beyond doubt.
Bosnia failed to find the net, as the United States booked their place in the Round of 16 with a confident and composed performance.
