Sri Lanka Cricket has informed the Colombo District Court that it will file objections against the petition submitted by Nuwan Thushara.
Thushara had sought an interim injunction compelling Sri Lanka Cricket to issue a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC), which would allow him to participate in international franchise leagues, including the Indian Premier League 2026 season.
When the case was taken up today, President’s Counsel G. G. Arulpragasam, appearing with attorney Kanchana Peiris on behalf of the petitioner, requested a date to present submissions regarding the interim relief.
Meanwhile, President’s Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma, representing respondents including SLC President Shammi Silva, sought time to file objections against the application.
Accordingly, the court fixed April 23 as the date for filing objections and further proceedings.
