France booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Sweden.
Kylian Mbappé starred for the French side, scoring twice in the 45th and 74th minutes. Bradley Barcola added the third goal in the 53rd minute as France dominated the contest from start to finish.
Sweden failed to find the back of the net, allowing France to seal a comfortable victory and progress to the knockout stage.
In the day’s other Round of 32 fixture, Mexico secured a convincing 2-0 win over Ecuador to advance to the Round of 16.
Julián Quiñones opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Raúl Jiménez doubled Mexico’s advantage in the 31st minute.
Ecuador were unable to respond and exited the tournament, while Mexico advanced to the last 16 with a composed and clinical performance.
