India wrapped up the group stage of the 2025 Asia Cup with a solid 21-run win over Oman yesterday, booking their spot in the Super Four alongside Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Winning the toss and batting first, India posted 188 for 8 in their 20 overs. Sanju Samson led the charge with a fluent 56, while Abhishek Sharma added 38. Oman’s bowlers put up a fight, with Shah Faisal, Jiten Ramandi, and Ameer Kaleem each picking up two wickets.
In reply, Oman produced a spirited chase but fell short, finishing at 167 for 4 at the end of their 20 overs. Ameer Kaleem starred with a fine 64, supported by Hamad Mirza’s 51, but the asking rate proved too much. For India, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav shared the wickets.
With the result, the group stage of the Asia Cup 2025 has come to an end. The tournament now moves into the Super Four phase, where India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will battle it out for a place in the final.
The Super Four stage kicks off today in Dubai, with Sri Lanka facing Bangladesh in the opening clash
