Pakistan Shaheens clinched the Rising Asia Cup 20-20 cricket championship, defeating Bangladesh A in a thrilling final held yesterday in Doha, Qatar.
Batting first, Pakistan Shaheens were bowled out for 125 runs in 20 overs. Saad Masood top-scored with 38 runs.
For Bangladesh A, Ripon Mondol claimed 3 wickets, while Rakibul Hasan took 2 wickets.
In reply, Bangladesh A also scored 125 runs for 9 wickets within their 20 overs. Habibur Rahman was their highest scorer with 26 runs.
Pakistan Shaheens’ bowling attack was led by Sufiyan Muqeem, who captured 3 wickets.
With both teams tied on the same score, the match was pushed into a Super Over.
Bangladesh A batted first in the Super Over and managed 6 runs.
Pakistan Shaheens then chased it down brilliantly, scoring 7 runs in just 4 balls, securing victory and lifting the Rising Asia Cup T20 title.
Pakistan Shaheens thus emerged as the new rising champions of Asian cricket.
