Pathum Nissanka scored his third half-century of the ILT20 tournament during yesterday’s match against the Desert Vipers, held in Dubai.
Batting first, the Gulf Giants posted 179 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Nissanka top-scored with 56 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and four sixes.
In reply, the Desert Vipers also scored 179 runs for the loss of 9 wickets within their 20 overs.
Dan Lawrence contributed 56 runs for the Vipers. With both teams finishing on equal scores, the match was decided through a Super Over. Batting first in the Super Over, the Desert Vipers scored 13 runs.
The Gulf Giants, however, managed only 9 runs in response. As a result, the Desert Vipers claimed victory in a nail-biting finish.
