Sri Lanka recorded their first victory in the ongoing Tri-Nation T20 series held in Pakistan, defeating Zimbabwe by 9 wickets in Rawalpindi.
Batting first, Zimbabwe posted 146/5 in their 20 overs. Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl top-scored with 37 runs apiece.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga claiming two wickets each.
In reply, Sri Lanka cruised to victory in 16.2 overs, losing just one wicket.
Pathum Nissanka produced a magnificent unbeaten knock of 98 runs, narrowly missing his second T20 century by just two runs. His 58-ball innings included 11 fours and 4 sixes.
Kusal Mendis supported him brilliantly with an unbeaten 25 runs.
Pathum Nissanka was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings.
Sri Lanka’s next match of the series will be played on 27th, against hosts Pakistan.
