The Sri Lanka Under-19 cricket team departed the island today to take part in the Asian U19 Cup, scheduled to begin on the 12th of this month. The squad consists of 15 players, with Vimath Dinsara leading the side as captain.
Kugathas Mathulan, who was originally named in the squad, has been ruled out due to injury. In his place, Himal Ravihansa of Wennappuwa Joseph Vaz College has been included in the final touring party.
The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates, where Sri Lanka is placed in Group B alongside Nepal, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Sri Lanka will play their opening match against Nepal on the 13th.
