Teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a record-breaking innings as Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs to book their place in Qualifier 2 of the 2026 IPL playoffs.
The high-stakes Eliminator clash, played in Chandigarh, decided which team would stay alive in the race for the IPL final.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals piled up a massive 243/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to a sensational knock from 15-year-old Suryavanshi. The youngster smashed 97 runs off just 29 balls, hammering 5 fours and a stunning 12 sixes in one of the most explosive innings in IPL history.
With that innings, Suryavanshi now has 65 sixes in the 2026 IPL season, breaking the previous record of 59 sixes set by Chris Gayle back in 2012.
Chasing 244 for victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 196 in 19.2 overs despite a fighting effort from their middle order.
The 47-run victory sends Rajasthan Royals into Qualifier 2, where they will face Gujarat Titans tomorrow for a place in the grand final.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have already secured their spot in the IPL 2026 final after winning Qualifier 1.
