Sri Lankan artists have stepped forward with creative concepts for the 2026 Commonwealth Games Baton, raising the question of whether the official baton could become a Sri Lankan-designed masterpiece.
The baton for the 2026 Games—scheduled to be held in Glasgow, Scotland—is currently in the design phase, and today a group of Sri Lankan university art students presented their submissions at the Olympic House in Colombo.
Several talented visual art designers from Sri Lankan universities showcased their creative interpretations. Out of all the submissions, one selected design will be forwarded to Scotland for final consideration.
The remaining designs will be kept on display at the Olympic House.
