India Women produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Pakistan Women by 64 runs in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup clash held in Birmingham, England.
Batting first, India posted a strong total of 170/6 in 20 overs, led by a classy innings from Smriti Mandhana, who top-scored with 68 runs. Pakistan’s bowlers fought back through Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal, who picked up two wickets each.
Chasing 171, Pakistan never found momentum and were bowled out for 106 in 17 overs. Muneeba Ali was the top scorer with 41 runs, but lacked support from the rest of the batting lineup.
India’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Deepti Sharma, who delivered a match-winning spell of 5 wickets, dismantling the Pakistani batting order and sealing a comprehensive win.
The result strengthens India’s position in the tournament, while Pakistan will look to regroup in their upcoming fixtures.
