In one of the most astonishing collapses in Test cricket history, West Indies were bowled out for a mere 27 runs in their second innings, handing Australia a 176-run victory in the third and final Test of the series.

The match, which looked balanced over the first three innings, turned dramatically on Day 3 as Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland dismantled the West Indian batting lineup in under 20 overs.

Australia, having won the toss, posted 225 runs in their first innings, with Steve Smith (48) and Cameron Green (46) top-scoring. Shamar Joseph was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies with 4 wickets, while Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves took 3 each.

West Indies responded with 143 runs, with John Campbell contributing 36. Scott Boland impressed with the ball again, taking 3 wickets for the Aussies.

Australia’s second innings faltered slightly, managing only 121 runs, largely due to a fiery spell from Alzarri Joseph (5 wickets) and Shamar Joseph (4 wickets).

Chasing 204 for victory, West Indies were blown away for just 27 runs, their lowest Test total since 1928 and the second-lowest in Test cricket history. Mitchell Starc tore through the batting lineup with 6 wickets, supported by Scott Boland’s 3.

This defeat marks a new low for West Indies Test cricket and underlines Australia’s dominance, especially with the ball.
