The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reiterated that it will continue to refuse playing matches in India during the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The BCB stated that the decision to reject playing in India is based on security concerns, emphasizing that player safety remains their top priority.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has also formally requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to consider hosting their matches in Sri Lanka instead.
Discussions regarding this matter have already taken place between the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the ICC, according to international media reports.
However, as the official tournament schedule has already been announced, the ICC has reportedly asked the BCB to reconsider its position, taking the existing arrangements into account.
Responding to the ICC’s request, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has firmly stated that there will be no change in its stance, making it clear that Bangladesh will not play its T20 World Cup matches in India under the current circumstances.
