Lucknow Super Giants recorded a thrilling 9-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in yesterday’s IPL encounter, with the final result decided under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

The match was reduced to 19 overs per side due to intermittent rain. After being invited to bat first by RCB, Lucknow posted a massive total of 209/3.

Mitchell Marsh starred with the bat, smashing a brilliant 111 runs off just 56 balls. He received strong support from Rishabh Pant, who scored 32 off 10 deliveries, and Nicholas Pooran, who added 38 runs.

For RCB, Rasikh Salam, Krunal Pandya, and Josh Hazlewood picked up one wicket each.

In reply, RCB suffered an early setback as their opening partnership ended at just 9 runs. Virat Kohli was dismissed without scoring, leaving the team struggling at 9/2.

Devdutt Padikkal then scored 34, while Rajat Patidar played a fighting knock of 61 runs to keep RCB in the contest.

Tim David later arrived as an impact substitute and launched a late counterattack, smashing 40 runs off only 17 balls. However, his effort was not enough as RCB finished on 203 runs.

According to the DLS target, RCB required 213 runs to win, handing Lucknow Super Giants a dramatic 9-run victory.

The 51st match of the tournament between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders is scheduled to begin today at 7:30 PM.
