Pakistan Under-19s were crowned Youth Asian Champions after registering a dominant 191-run victory over India in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup, played today between the arch-rivals.
After winning the toss, India opted to field first. Making full use of the conditions, the Pakistan U19 team produced an aggressive batting display to post a formidable 347 for 8 at the end of their 50 overs.
Sameer Minhas was the star of the innings with a magnificent 172, while Ahmed Hussain chipped in with 56 and Usman Khan added 35. For India, Deepesh Devendran claimed three wickets, with Henil Patel and Kilan Patel picking up two wickets each.
Chasing the huge target, the Indian Under-19 team collapsed under pressure and were bowled out for just 156 runs in the 27th over.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave India a promising start but was dismissed for 26, after which the Indian batting lineup crumbled rapidly.
Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Ali Raza, who took four wickets, while Mohammad Saim, Abdul Subhan, and Husaifa Ahsan claimed two wickets each.
With this emphatic win, Pakistan Under-19s clinched the final by 191 runs and lifted the Under-19 Asia Cup title. Sameer Minhas was deservedly named Player of the Final as well as Player of the Tournament
