In a thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter held in Ahmedabad yesterday, Punjab Kings secured an 11-run victory over Gujarat Titans.
Batting first, Punjab Kings posted an imposing total of 243/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer led the charge with a spectacular 97 off 42 balls*, featuring five fours and nine sixes. Supporting contributions came from Priyansh Arya (47) and Shashank Singh (44). In the bowling department, Sai Kishore was the standout performer for Gujarat, claiming three wickets.
In response, Gujarat Titans fought valiantly but fell just short, managing 232/6 in their 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan top-scored with 74, while Jos Buttler added 54, but their efforts weren’t enough to secure victory.
This win marks an important boost for Punjab Kings as they continue their IPL campaign.
