Sri Lanka’s sports Deputy Minister Sugath Thilakaratne departed for Pakistan this morning (Nov. 19) on the official invitation of the Pakistan Government to witness the Sri Lanka–Pakistan–Zimbabwe T20 Tri-Series and to motivate the Sri Lankan cricket team.
The visit takes place under the instructions of the Minister of Sports.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Rear Admiral (Retd.) Fred Senewiratne, was present to welcome the Deputy Minister upon arrival.
Given the situation that has recently arisen in Pakistan, the objective of the visit also includes assessing the mental well-being of Sri Lankan players and ensuring they maintain a strong and confident mindset throughout the tournament.
