Sri Lanka and India were both eliminated from the Rising Asia Cup after yesterday’s semi-final matches.
In the first semi-final, Bangladesh A defeated India A, while in the second semi-final, Pakistan Shaheens overcame Sri Lanka A to secure their place in the final.
The first semi-final between India A and Bangladesh A ended in a dramatic Super Over.
Bangladesh A, batting first, posted 194 for 6. In reply, India A also scored 194 for 6, taking the match into a Super Over.
India A batted first in the Super Over but lost both wickets without scoring a single run.
Bangladesh A required just one run to win. Although they lost a wicket, a wide delivery bowled by India ensured Bangladesh A’s victory.
The second semi-final was played between Sri Lanka A and Pakistan Shaheens.
Batting first, Pakistan Shaheens scored 153 for 9 in their 20 overs. Sri Lanka A made a promising start in their chase but were eventually bowled out for 148 runs. Milan Ratnayake top-scored for Sri Lanka A with a fighting knock of 40.
With these results, Bangladesh A and Pakistan Shaheens have qualified for the Rising Asia Cup final, which will be played tomorrow.
