The three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan kicks off today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM Sri Lanka time.

This marks the first ODI between the two teams at Rawalpindi in 30 years, with the previous encounter at the venue taking place back in 1995.

So far, Sri Lanka has played three ODIs at the Rawalpindi Stadium, winning two of them.

In total, the two nations have faced each other 157 times in ODIs — Pakistan winning 93 matches, Sri Lanka 59, while four ended without a result and one was tied.

Sri Lanka last won an ODI series against Pakistan in 2014.

Ahead of today’s opening clash, the Sri Lankan players participated in their final training session yesterday at the Rawalpindi grounds.

Meanwhile, the series trophy was unveiled yesterday with both team captains in attendance, adding to the anticipation for what promises to be an exciting series.
