Sri Lanka Announce 15-Member Squad for Women’s World Cup ODI Tournament

Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed the 15-member national women’s squad for the upcoming Women’s World Cup ODI tournament, with prolific opener Chamari Athapaththu set to captain the side. Wicketkeeper-batter Anushka Sanjeewani will serve as the vice-captain.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 30 to November 2, hosted across venues in Sri Lanka and India. The Lankan Lionesses will begin their campaign with a high-profile clash against India in Guwahati on October 30, a fixture expected to test their skill and resilience right from the start.

Sri Lanka’s squad combines the experience of senior players with the energy of promising youngsters, aiming to make a strong impression on the world stage.

Sri Lanka will look to build momentum early and capitalize on Athapaththu’s explosive batting and leadership, while relying on a well-rounded squad to challenge top opposition.
