Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed the 15-member national women’s squad for the upcoming Women’s World Cup ODI tournament, with prolific opener Chamari Athapaththu set to captain the side. Wicketkeeper-batter Anushka Sanjeewani will serve as the vice-captain.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 30 to November 2, hosted across venues in Sri Lanka and India. The Lankan Lionesses will begin their campaign with a high-profile clash against India in Guwahati on October 30, a fixture expected to test their skill and resilience right from the start.
