Sri Lanka clinched a thrilling 6-run victory against Pakistan in the decisive match of the Tri-Nation T20 Series.
Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 184/5, powered by an outstanding innings from opener Kamil Mishara, who scored 76 off 48 balls. He was strongly supported by Kusal Mendis, who made 40 off 23.
For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets, while Salman Mirza and Saim Ayub picked up one wicket each.
In reply, Pakistan struggled early as Sri Lanka’s bowlers reduced them to 43/4. However, captain Salman Agha built a 56-run stand with Usman Khan, followed by a 70-run partnership with Mohammad Nawaz, pulling Pakistan back into contention.
Pakistan needed just 10 runs off the final over, but Dushmantha Chameera’s brilliant bowling restricted them to only 3 runs.
Salman Agha remained unbeaten on 63, while Usman Khan scored 33.
Chameera was the hero for Sri Lanka, taking 4 wickets for 20 runs. Eshan Malinga claimed 2 wickets, and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 1.
With this victory, Sri Lanka qualify for the grand final of the Tri-Nation Series. The final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be played on the 29th.
