Sri Lanka Under-19 secured an impressive five-wicket victory over South Africa in their Super Six clash of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The match was played in Bulawayo.

After winning the toss, South Africa opted to bat first and posted a competitive 261 for 7 in their allotted overs.

Opener Jorich van Schalkwyk led the charge with a brilliant 116 runs, while Adnaan Lagdien contributed 46.

With the ball, Vigneshwaran Akash was outstanding for Sri Lanka, picking up 4 wickets for 46 runs, while Kavija Gamage supported well with two wickets.

Chasing 262, Sri Lanka completed the target comfortably with four overs to spare, losing only five wickets.

Opener Viran Chamuditha played a match-winning knock, scoring 110 off 94 balls — his second century of the tournament. Senuja Wekunagoda added a valuable 48 runs to support the chase.

For South Africa, Michael Krusekamp and Corne Botha claimed two wickets each, but it wasn’t enough to stop Sri Lanka’s momentum.

With this victory, Sri Lanka moved into second place in Group 1 of the Super Six stage.
