Australian batting maestro Steve Smith has announced his retirement from One-Day Internationals (ODIs) to prioritize Test and T20 cricket.
Smith, who played 170 ODIs, amassed 5,800 runs and also picked up 28 wickets. Interestingly, he started his international career as a leg-spinner before evolving into one of the world’s finest batsmen.
His departure marks the end of an era for Australian cricket, as he played a key role in multiple ICC tournaments, including the 2015 World Cup victory.
